“A goal without a plan is just a wish.” Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Agreed-upon development goals and activities provide the framework for continuous learning and professional growth to help you drive your career.  Capture a clear and concise development goal description that explains what skill you would like to grow using the SMART methodology (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound).  Consider that 70% of your learning is through on-the-job learning, 20% is through shadowing others, mentoring and coaching, and only 10% if through structured courses.

Use the notes section in Dabra to capture relevant information about your goal.  Make sure that you discuss the goal with your manager and how this skill will help you grow. Dabra recommends that you discuss your development goal on a quarterly basis to ensure you are staying on track.
